Ravens kicker Justin Tucker wins NFL talent show by singing opera wholesale jerseys

Justin Tucker is more than just the most accurate kicker in NFL history. The Baltimore Ravens kicker is also the most talented player off the field.

Showing off his opera skills by singing “Ave Maria,” Tucker was the winner of “Most Valuable Performer,” an NFL talent show televised on CBS on Thursday night.

He beat out finalists Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart (played piano) and Cleveland Browns guard Kevin Zeitler (dog tricks).

“This is amazing,” Tucker said. “What an incredible opportunity. Such a blast.”

Tucker, who earned a music degree at the University of Texas, will give his $50,000 prize money to the Baltimore School for the Arts.

“Hopefully, we’re going to keep encouraging Baltimore’s youth to stay involved in music, dance and all of the fine arts,” he said.

In what was his fourth live performance, Tucker wowed the judges in the first such talent show involving NFL players.

“That’s what we call pitch perfect,” said Katharine McPhee, a singer and actress.

The other players who participated were Ravens defensive tackle Brandon Williams (singing) and running back Alex Collins (Irish dancing) and Broncos defensive tackle Domata Peko (guitar and singing).

Tucker, who has sung previously at Christmas concerts, was the star of the show.

“I expected to be impressed tonight,” said wide receiver Brandon Marshall, who was also a judge. “But I was not expecting to be moved. This was emotional.”

CBS Names Justin Tucker NFL’s MVP: ‘Most Valuable Performer’

Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker has been named Most Valuable Performer.

Several NFL players displayed their skills off the field, competing in a unique new talent show called “MVP: Most Valuable Performer.”

More than 30 football players auditioned, but only six finalists performed live on CBS. And Maryland was well represented with three Baltimore Ravens!

Ravens Defensive Tackle Brandon Williams started singing in the church choir as a child.

“I’ve had no training, no coaching, no nothing,” Williams said. “I just sing because I love it.”

Tucker studied music in college, but has only performed opera in public a few times.

“I can kick a ball, piece of cake,” Tucker said. “But getting out here and singing in front of an auditorium of people with many more watching on tv, that is nerve wracking to me.”

Ravens Running Back Alex Collins started Irish Dancing two years ago and says it helps him on the football field.

“The aspect of being on your toes at all times, it just definitely gives you that lower body strength, which is what’s important for a running back,” Collins said. “So I feel like it’s definitely helped me with my quickness and explosion.”

Their competition: Jonathan Stewart from the Carolina Panthers played the piano, Kevin Zeitler with the Cleveland Browns did dog tricks, and Domata Peko with the Denver Broncos played guitar and song.
