Men’s Buffalo Bills Marcell Dareus Nike Royal Blue Team Color Game Jersey

For the second week in a row, it looks as if defensive tackle Marcell Dareus and offensive tackle Cordy Glenn will be limited, or held out, of practice, and their availability for Sunday’s game in Atlanta will be questionable, at best.

Coach Sean McDermott met with the media Wednesday morning and said Dareus would be limited, which means he’s not going to do anything in team drills and probably will just do some conditioning work for most of the session. Glenn isn’t practicing at all.

Regarding Dareus, McDermott said, “We’re day-to-day right now. He put in a lot of time over the weekend and the last two days here. We feel like we’re headed in the right direction.”

Of course, the other issue with Dareus – which McDermott raised last week with an NFL Network reporter – is the level of his commitment to the team and whether he’s fully buying in with what’s happening on defense, and his role in it. McDermott was asked again Wednesday whether he’s comfortable with Dareus at this stage.

“I am,” McDermott said. “Like I said the other day, we have to continue to improve. That’s true of our football team. We have to take that growth mindset approach to growing every day. That starts with myself and goes right through the entire team with Marcell being one of those guys.”

In the victory last week against the Broncos, Dareus really wasn’t missed. The Bills’ defense had an excellent day limiting the Broncos to a single touchdown in a 26-16 victory, and it was tough to even notice Dareus’ absence.

It was similar minus Glenn, too. Rookie Dion Dawkins played all 65 snaps at left tackle in place of Glenn, and while he graded out fairly mediocre, you could make the argument that he played better than right tackle Jordan Mills.

The good news is that if Dareus ends up not playing, it looks like Jerel Worthy may be able to make his season debut. He is now officially out of concussion protocol and was back at practice in full for the first time this season.wholesale jersey dresses

The Buffalo Bills got two of their top defensive tackles back on Wednesday. Sean McDermott announced that Marcell Dareus will return to practice in a limited capacity, while Jerel Worthy has cleared the league’s concussion protocol.

The bad news on the injury front is left tackle Cordy Glenn will still be held out of practice.

Worthy has missed the first three games of the season after suffering a concussion in the Bills’ fourth preseason game against the Detroit Lions. He has not practiced since suffering the concussion.

Meanwhile, Dareus injured his ankle against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2. He finished the game but then was unable to practice all last week and missed the Bills’ Week 3 win over the Broncos.

Buffalo’s defense managed just fine without Dareus and Worthy thanks to the emergence of defensive tackle Cedric Thronton, who filled in admirably the last two weeks.

We’re day-to-day right now. He put in a lot of time over the weekend the last two days here on Monday and Tuesday. We feel like we’re heading in the right direction but right now we’re day-to-day.

McDermott told NFL Network over the weekend that the Bills were only seeing urgency from Dareus some of the time. He seems to be backing off that statement now, saying he’s convinced Dareus is on board.

“I am,” McDermott said. “Like I said the other day, we have to continue to improve. That’s true of our football team. We have to take that growth mindset approach to growing every day. That starts with myself and goes right through the entire team with Marcell being one of those guys. We have a lot of work to do. Anxious to get back on the practice field today.”

McDermott also noted that defensive tackle Kyle Williams and linebacker Lorenzo Alexander will have veteran rest days.
